Open Position: Research Analyst
The Research Analyst position will manage the RFP response process including data calls, pricing, work breakdown structures, and proposal preparation and submission. Managing pipeline architecture and CRM facilitation are also primary duties. The Research Analyst will be responsible for in-depth analysis as it relates to company objectives and initiatives, including conducting detailed research and creating strategy and recommendations concerning federal and state government plans, programs, and budget. The ideal candidate will analyze and identify trends in budgetary spending and process improvements throughout the federal contracting domain and develop detailed reports and support papers that inform executive leadership, customers and prospects. In some situations, the Research Analyst will work directly with customers and with other members of the team to jointly develop an approach to solve difficult technology problems.
Responsibilities:
- Write and maintain database of company profiles for both teaming and competitive situations
- Contribute to achievement of company-wide annual revenue goals
- Complete required projects and/or reports in an accurate and timely manner
- Assist with and develop on-demand reports, white papers, and presentations that support business development efforts
- Lead the administration and internal support of Deltek CostPoint CRM
- Understand the latest research tools and resources available and consistently inventory needs
- Act as capture manager as needed
- Assist customers in the use of company solutions as needed
Requirements:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and CostPoint CRM
- Proficient with Capture Management and Proposal Management
- Knowledge of project management
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills; practices active listening; contributes appropriately to discussions; accurately prepares written business communications that are grammatically correct, effective, professional and engaging
- Strong interpersonal skills: able to effectively engage with others and establish trust, credibility, and confidence with others
- Customer orientation: listens to customers, ensures commitments to customers are met, sets appropriate expectations, and effectively responds to customer needs
- Pre-sales experience for a software vendor
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of CMMI and ISO preferred
- 2+ years of successful performance in similar role
- BA or higher in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, International Affairs or related major
- Able to travel 25% of time
