| ObjectFX Selected by Cadgraphics to Develop Building Monitoring Systems |
CAD Viewing Capability is Key to Ensuring Safety and Rapid Response to EmergenciesMinneapolis - August 8, 2007 - ObjectFX® Corporation, a leader in delivering dynamic geospatial solutions, announced that ObjectFX has been selected by Cadgraphics, Inc., to provide software and development services to create the next-generation version of Cadgraphics' building monitoring software systems. The new system being developed by ObjectFX on behalf of Cadgraphics will feature the ability to display CAD renderings of a building's interior structure and features. CAD (computer-aided design) software is used by architects, engineers, drafters, artists, and others to create precision drawings or technical illustrations. In a building safety application, these renderings can show the location and status of sensors, emergency gathering areas, barriers, exit routes, equipment and other features that are critical to fire protection, emergency response and building management. Most fire protection, safety and building monitoring systems available today are limited to displaying bitmap images of building floor plans that simply show a static view of the building infrastructure at a particular point in time. The new system being delivered to Cadgraphics will have the capability to immediately and accurately represent changes to building layout, sensor locations, and other important information, and will contain numerous other enhancements to the existing system. ObjectFX will deliver these new capabilities using its flagship SpatialFX® geospatial software development and deployment platform with a special CAD viewing extension. The CAD viewing extension to SpatialFX has now been deployed in multiple solutions to help organizations maintain up-to-date views of their building facilities and to bridge the gap between geospatial views and interior space. "We are very excited to be working with ObjectFX in the development of our next-generation system," said Dan Horon, President and CEO of Cadgraphics. "Their ability to integrate and display CAD images and their Java development experience makes them the ideal partner to enhance our safety and building monitoring products," Horon continued. "We are very pleased that Cadgraphics has selected us as their development partner for their next-generation product," said Nick Thomey, President, bjectFX. "Cadgraphics is an innovator in the fire protection, safety and building monitoring industry, and we are very excited about this application of our CAD viewing technology," Thomey continued. The new system will be offered by Cadgraphics as an upgrade to its existing Cadgraphics software product series.
