ObjectFX to Demonstrate SpatialRules 2.0 at GEOINT 2006 Symposium

Service-Oriented Spatiotemporal Rule System Addresses Challenges in Geospatial Intelligence

Orlando Fl. – November 13, 2006 – ObjectFX® Corporation, a leading provider of solutions to the geospatial intelligence community, will demonstrate its recently-released SpatialRules™ 2.0 product at the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation’s GEOINT 2006 Symposium November 13-16 in Orlando, Fl.  ObjectFX will be exhibiting at Booth #400. ObjectFX representatives will also demonstrate SpatialRules in partnership with L3 Titan (Booth #201) and General Dynamics (Booth #407).

“The pace of adoption of SpatialRules in the geospatial intelligence community has been very gratifying, especially among large systems integrators” said Steve Panzer, Vice President of Government Operations for ObjectFX. “We are excited to have such a focused audience of end users and integrators in this community for whom we can demonstrate our new capabilities.”

SpatialRules 2.0 is a highly scalable spatiotemporal rule system that enables organizations to manage and analyze streams of spatial and temporal data for advanced tracking and monitoring applications. The system addresses a critical and previously unfulfilled need for automated monitoring of large amounts of spatiotemporal data. Conventional rule engines lack the ability to monitor thousands—if not millions—of objects in time and space where the location of each object and the areas of interest may change constantly. SpatialRules uses unique patent pending methods to deliver the high scalability needed for such advanced geofencing and data reduction operations.

The initial prototype for SpatialRules was developed under the National Technology Alliance (NTA) program, managed by Rosettex Technology and Venture Group™, in support of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).

As a service-oriented component, SpatialRules is easily integrated with a variety of systems, from sensor networks and data collection systems on the input side, to GIS, notification and analytic systems on the output side. ObjectFX will demonstrate SpatialRules 2.0 in combination with its own SpatialFX® geospatial development and deployment platform, as well as with Google Earth™ Pro. SpatialRules will also be included in an industry interoperability demonstration as part of the GEOINT Symposium.

Data sources that can be analyzed by SpatialRules include GPS systems, RFID readers, MTI platforms and sensor networks; however “location reports” from a variety of technology platforms that generate data indicating the location of an object at a given point in time, as well as human observation, can also be analyzed. SpatialRules supports a native XML input format and allows output to be directed to queuing systems and relational databases, as well as XML streams such as RSS, GeoRSS, KML and GML.
