How You Can Use Supply Chain Visibilty

A major supplier of raw materials selected ObjectFX^® to provide supply chain inventory visibility. This supplier was keeping large amounts of inventory flowing to its customers where it would often sit unused for long periods of time. Reducing these excess inventories can save the supplier millions of dollars every year.

An application built with our SpatialFX geospatial software was linked to the supplier’s existing inventory, transportation, and planning systems in order to provide a near real-time geographic view of inventory locations, right down to the container level. This constantly updated view allows the supplier to closely balance its production levels with its actual customer demand. The Web-based application is accessible to all of the supplier’s branch facilities through its corporate intranet. Eventually it will be shared by its customers, allowing a common view of the entire supply chain and enabling true “just in time” collaboration between the supplier and its customers.
